About the hotline
A phone number and a website that put you in touch with an independent plumbing contractor on your side of the bay, in English or Spanish, at any hour.
What we are
Tampa Bay Plumbing Hotline is a referral service. When you call the number on this site or send the request form, we pass your information to an independent local plumbing contractor who serves your part of Hillsborough or Pinellas. A phone call connects you to them directly; the form gets you a call back. They diagnose the problem and quote the work. From that point on, you deal directly with them.
We built this because plumbing in Tampa Bay comes with rules a homeowner meets at the worst moment: a permit that is still required for a water heater after the state's 2026 exemption made the news, a Notice of Commencement over $5,000, two utilities with different water and different rebates, an insurer that asks about the pipe material in a house built in 1988, a code edition that changes at the end of 2026. The line exists to put a homeowner in front of an independent local contractor with those rules already laid out.
What we are not
We are not a plumbing contractor and we do not employ plumbers. We do not perform or supervise work, set or quote prices, pull permits, collect payment, or provide a warranty. The contractor is responsible for their license, insurance, permits, workmanship, and warranty. We do not give insurance, tax, or legal advice; the rules described on this site are summarized from public sources with links, and the utility, the insurer, and the permit office have the final word.
How the contractors are chosen
Contractors who receive calls from this line work in Hillsborough or Pinellas, take on residential plumbing, answer around the clock, and serve Spanish-speaking homeowners as well as English-speaking ones. We do not verify licenses or insurance on your behalf; you should. Plumbing is a state-licensed trade under Chapter 489, Florida Statutes: ask the contractor for their Florida license number (a certified plumbing contractor's begins with CFC and is valid statewide; a registered one's begins with RF and is valid only where the county issued the competency card) and check it on the DBPR site at MyFloridaLicense.com. In Pinellas a registered contractor also holds a license through the PCCLB, which has its own search; in Hillsborough, through the county's HillsGovHub. State-certified contractors do not need the county license.
Your information
The information you give us goes to the contractor who takes your request, to any routing network that delivers it to them, and to the systems we use to route and record calls and messages; that contractor or network may pay us a referral fee.
